TCEC Employees Raise Money for the Hungry in Beaver County

HOOKER, Okla. (March 12, 2014) – Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) employees recently raised more $1,000 to donate to area foods banks within the TCEC service territory. TCEC matched employee donations making the total contribution more than $2,000. Employees gave generously making it possible to donate $543 to each of the four county food banks in Beaver, Cimarron, and Texas counties in Oklahoma and Morton County in Kansas.

The donation was delivered to the Beaver County Food Bank in Beaver last week. The pantry survives solely on donations and the donation provided by TCEC employees will supply the pantry for at approximately two months.

“We appreciate any and all donations,” David Glasscock with the Ministerial Fellowship said. “Whether food or monetary donations it all helps to serve those in need.”

The pantry serves more than 20 families a month dispensing food upon request. Anyone in need can contact a member of the Ministerial Fellowship or their local church for assistance.

“Concern for Community is one of our seven cooperative principles,” said Erin Moore, member solutions coordinator for TCEC. “Our employees truly embody this principle and give generously to such a worthy cause.”
