TCEC urges weather preparedness

TCEC urges weather preparedness

TCEC has been monitoring the coming winter event all week so we can be prepared in case of a major weather event. At the time of this press release the weather forecast is indicating the worst of potential icing events will occur south and southeast of the TCEC service territory. TCEC is prepared to address any event that may happen. As we all know weather forecasts are extremely volatile and hard to pinpoint. Because of this TCEC is hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. We strongly encourage our members to do the same. It is important to remind the membership that the electric grid is interconnected at the transmission level of service. This means that severe weather events outside of TCEC’s service territory could possibly disrupt electrical service at the local level. We are prepared to handle anything that happens inside the TCEC service area. We want you to know there are events outside of the service area that could possibly occur that TCEC has no control over.

For help to prepare for an outage go to TCEC’s website tcec.coop.  TCEC will continue to provide updates on social media that can also be viewed on TCEC’s website home page.
