Co-op Connections: Stockmen's Feed Bunk, Boise City

TCEC members who present their Co-op Connections membership card at Stockmen’s Feed Bunk in Boise City will receive 10 percent off on home decor or furniture in stock.

The store started as a traditional feed store 35 years ago, in 1982. It carries products from brands like Purina, Moormans, Sweet Lix, Nutrena, and Vita-Ferm. It also has Easley horse trailers, ropes, tack, and farrier supplies, as well as flatbeds, and toolboxes.

OPSU Scholarship Recipients 2017-2018 School Year

TCEC funds eight $1,200 scholarships to Oklahoma Panhandle State University each year through the Panhandle State Foundation. The scholarships are open to entering freshmen or returning sophomores with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The applicant, parent or guardian must be a member of the cooperative in good standing.

CEO View: November 2017 | Community Support

Zac PerkinsOctober was National Cooperative Month and in honor of the Seventh Cooperative Principle, “Concern for Community,” TCEC presented donations to area fire departments, EMS departments and emergency management offices. In addition, all local school districts were presented with donations.

Co-op member outreach effort wins state award

About a thousand people came out to celebrate National Co-op Month with PTCI and TCEC earlier this month. Both cooperatives and their employees try hard to make it a fun, family-friendly event with free pumpkins, train rides, hot dogs, cookies, a pumpkin decorating contest and fall photos.

Pumpkins at the Park event celebrates Co-op Month

The east side of Thompson Park in Guymon will be covered in orange the evening of October 3 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for the third annual Pumpkins at the Park event.

Record attendance by members at TCEC Annual Meeting

The 2017 TCEC Annual Meeting on September 21 was attended by more than 1,200 people with over 800 memberships registered. Members were greeted by TCEC employees at registration. Member Solutions Vice President Chris Purdy began the meeting with a welcome followed by an invocation by CEO Zac Perkins. Boy Scout Troops 142 and 163 presented the flag colors and pledge of allegiance. Hunny’s catered the member appreciation meal.

TCEC personnel help restore power after Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma was a historic storm and utilities are coordinating a historic response. Approximately 5,000 cooperative workers from 25 states are converging on the hurricane's impact zone to assist with restoration efforts. Affected co-ops took steps ahead of Irma's landfall to prepare for restoration and those steps are helping to speed the process of reconnecting members to the grid.
